In this incident, on May 25, 2022, Team Pro-Enviro and Team Pro-Tow responded to an accident involving a dump truck and minivan. Unfortunately, both vehicles were heavily damaged. The accident cleanup and recovery required both of our divisions at the scene.
Team Pro-Tow Gets Out the Dump
What goes down must come up! Or is it the other way around? The dump truck flew over the metal guardrail 150 feet down a steep embankment. So, Pro-Tow had to get it 150 back up to the roadway.
Our team of skilled operators created a recovery plan. Then, we carefully rigged up the dump truck in the ditch so we could pull it back up to the road. Next, we used a heavy-duty crane-style wrecker to slowly but surely get the dump truck on the road so we could remove it from the scene.
Team Pro-Enviro Performs Spill Recovery
Unfortunately, both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the crash and left a big mess. The guardrail was in pieces, and debris from both vehicles covered the road from the wreck. As a result, the scene required significant accident cleanup. So we got to work hauling debris, cleaning, and sweeping the road.
In addition, the accident damaged the dump truck’s fuel tank, likely from hitting the metal guard rail on its way down the ditch. We contained any spills from the tank and performed a spill recovery in contaminated areas.
After much hard work, we removed the vehicles from the scene. Then, our team completed the accident cleanup and opened the roadway back to traffic.
