In this incident on February 6, 2019, Washington State Patrol called Team Pro-Enviro to help with a significant box truck recovery. While on route with an international box truck destined for the Philippines, the driver hit a 6-point bull elk and lost control near Preston, WA. Unfortunately, the elk didn’t survive, and while the driver was okay, the accident left them stranded in snowy and icy temperatures.
Box Truck Recovery
We arrived quickly at the scene and put together a cargo load recovery plan. First, the body of the elk was salvaged as per the salvage program that came into law in July 2016.
After that, our team focused on recovering the box truck packages. Unfortunately, the weight of the packages and the accident damage created some complications. Because of the damage to the roof of the international box truck, we had to do an emergency cargo unload in the freezing temperatures.
Cargo Load Recovery
Pro-Enviro is always equipped and ready to help with cargo reloads and recoveries. While this wasn’t just a load shift but a full recovery, our team was more than able to help. First, we carefully unloaded the packages from the damaged international box truck using a compact track loader. Once done, we could reload all cargo packages carefully and properly. As with any cargo load recovery, we made sure to load the packages evenly and secure them correctly to ensure the driver could continue to the Philippines without any more incidents.
Even in situations like these, where the temperatures are less than ideal, there are multiple steps in the recovery involved, and it’s time-sensitive; we can help. We are equipped to handle any recovery so that you can rely on Team Pro-Enviro every time!
