In this incident, on January 12, 2019, Team Pro-Enviro was called to Kent, WA, to help with an emergency cargo reloading. Team Pro-Tow also came to help with the transport back to a nearby trucking terminal.
Using a heavy-duty crane-style wrecker, specialty Landoll semi-trailer and a forklift, our team swiftly and safely handled the cargo recovery. With minimal impact, business returned to normal once again and this incident in Kent was cleared.
Cargo Recovery
As incidents like this show, proper cargo loading is essential to a safe trip. In this case, our team arrived in time to help reload the cargo without any serious incident. However, if a cargo shift happens on the road, it can result in spilled cargo, an accident, and potential injury.
When loading cargo, always load the cargo evenly across the trailer to avoid creating heavy spots or imbalance. Utilize straps and tie-downs to keep the cargo in place, and don’t be tempted to overload. Overloading invites the risk of harder turns, handling difficulties, and even brake failure if the weight is too much.
