Pro-Enviro offers a fast, effective, and safe spill cleanup and recovery service in Washington State. We respond to chemical spills, cargo spills, vehicle fires, and motor vehicle spill cleanup calls. Our spill response includes containment, spill cleanup, disposal, and restoration of the site.
Step One: Proper Assessment
Because every motor vehicle spill cleanup is different and no two locations are the same, a scene assessment is always the first step. Once Team Pro-Enviro arrives, we set up our equipment and take in the situation. We locate any potential nearby storm drains or natural water that could be at risk of contamination. Then, we assess the scope of the spill and the location to determine the next steps.
If the spill continues to spread, we stop the source and contain the area. If not, we will work with Pro-Tow on the recovery and proceed to the spill cleanup process.
Step Two: Containment
First, you must contain every spill at the source so it can’t spread further. We especially want to avoid contamination if there are nearby storm drains or natural bodies of water. Hazardous spills that sneak into storm drains can spread to local waterways and contaminate drinking water sources.
In many cases, the cause of the spill is a fuel tank damaged in an accident. Then, one of the first steps in our motor fuel spill cleanup is to contain that spill at the tank and try to stop the leak. Then, that vehicle can be safely removed from the scene without causing a larger spill.
In addition, any spills that get into natural water beds can harm local wildlife. To avoid any spread, we use absorbent pads and an absorbent sand mix to contain the spill and start the spill cleanup process. Once it’s dried, we can begin cleaning up.
Step Three: Spill Cleanup and Disposal
The recovery process is just as involved and detailed to ensure we don’t miss anything during a motor vehicle spill cleanup. We collect all the absorbent pads and scoop up the dry mix, which is then dumped into our disposable containers for proper disposal – compliant with local legislation. We don’t leave any materials behind and do thorough checks to ensure we haven’t missed anything, even the tiniest drop.
Step Four: Restoration
After we remove the wreckage, debris and clean up the spill, it is time to restore the site. That may be cleaning the roads to their original condition or checking nearby soil samples. We perform a complete restoration in major spills with contaminated soil or natural areas.
For example, If the soil is contaminated, our team removes it and replaces it with fresh, uncontaminated soil. We also do similar tests on nearby storm drains and water beds; in case the city needs to be notified. This extra step helps ensure a thorough and safe spill cleanup every time.
