On May 13, 2021, we received a call regarding a hydraulic fluid spill at a construction site that needed immediate cleanup. Team Pro-Enviro quickly prepared all the necessary equipment and supplies and rushed to the location.

Once we arrived at the scene, we evaluated the scene to create the best recovery game plan. First, we positioned the equipment to access the spill and still work safely around any traffic. We then called the customer and met at the site to learn what had happened. Our team explained to the customer that we needed to access the third floor with manual absorbents and cleanup materials. Next, we waited for additional equipment before we put together a final plan. Then it was time to get to work.

We placed the absorbents, installed dams, and began pressure washing and treating the spill area. We repeated the process and treated the machinery until we cleared the spill to the maximum practical extent. After repeating the process and cleaning the machines multiple times, we did all we could. Because we couldn’t access all parts of the building, we couldn’t clean the mess without a trace. We spoke with the customer to ensure the hydraulic fluid spill cleanup was satisfactory before we called it a day. Our team returned all our equipment to its original condition and location. We then completed the required paperwork and gave the cleared call.
The following day, we transported the collected waste to the manifest site under a disposal permit.
